Amazon DocumentDB Adds Direct Major Version Upgrades to Version 8.0
Amazon DocumentDB now supports direct, in-place major version upgrades from engine versions 3.6 and 4.0 to version 8.0. This enhancement simplifies the upgrade process by removing the need for intermediate steps, while preserving existing data, configurations, and cluster settings. Users with older DocumentDB clusters can now more easily access the latest security patches, performance improvements, and developer capabilities of version 8.0. This functionality is available across all AWS regions where these versions are supported.
