- EC2 M8gd and R8gd instances available in AWS GovCloud
Amazon EC2 M8gd and R8gd instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and featuring up to 11.4 TB of local NVMe SSD storage, are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-East) and AWS GovCloud (US-West) Regions. These instances are designed for applications needing high-speed, low-latency local storage and are built on the AWS Nitro System.
- Elastic Fabric Adapter availability
Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking is now offered on specific larger sizes of the M8gd and R8gd instances, including 24xlarge, 48xlarge, metal-24xl, and metal-48xl.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Improved performance and bandwidth options
These instances deliver up to 30% better performance compared to Graviton3-based instances, offering up to 50 Gbps of network bandwidth and 40 Gbps of Amazon EBS bandwidth. Customers can now adjust network and EBS bandwidth by 25% using EC2 instance bandwidth weighting configuration for better workload optimization.
Notes (1) ›
- Resources for adoption and migration
Links are provided to learn more about M8gd or R8gd instances, explore migration to Graviton-based instances via the AWS Graviton Fast Start program, and get started in the AWS Management Console.
