Amazon OpenSearch Serverless increases collection group limit to 10,000

dataawsgaarchitect
feature

Amazon OpenSearch Serverless now supports up to 10,000 collections within a single collection group, significantly up from the previous limit of 1,500. This enhancement allows customers to consolidate more collections, improving compute utilization and reducing per-collection costs. It particularly benefits multi-tenant applications by enabling more tenants to share a compute pool without creating additional collection groups. The increased limit applies automatically to all new and existing next-generation collection groups in regions where the service is available.
