Amazon Q introduces approval policies for enhanced asset sharing governance

Amazon Q now offers approval policies, providing administrators with governance controls over how assets are shared within their organization. This feature requires designated approvers to review and approve share requests, ensuring sensitive assets are shared deliberately, compliantly, and with auditability. Policies can be scoped to specific asset types like knowledge bases, spaces, and custom chat agents, with all workflow events captured in AWS CloudTrail. It is available for Professional and Enterprise plans in all AWS Regions where Amazon Q agentic capabilities are supported.
