Amazon Redshift Adds Concurrency Scaling for Kinesis Streaming Ingestion
Amazon Redshift now supports concurrency scaling for refreshes of streaming materialized views connected to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams. This enhancement allows streaming ingestion workloads to automatically scale, dedicating the main Redshift cluster to higher-priority tasks. It helps users build resilient analytics applications with predictable Service Level Agreements while managing high-speed data ingestion from Kinesis. The capability is available immediately across all AWS regions where Redshift is present and can be configured via SQL commands.

Amazon Redshift, starting with patch P203, now supports automatic concurrency scaling for refreshes of streaming materialized views connected to Amazon Kinesis Data Streams. This allows streaming ingestion workloads to scale independently, freeing up the main cluster or workgroup for other high-priority tasks and improving workload resiliency.
