feature

Amazon Redshift now offers `rg.large` and `rg.12xlarge` instance sizes for its RG instances within the AWS GovCloud (US-West) and (US-East) Regions. These RG instances provide enhanced performance, processing data warehouse and data lake workloads up to 2.4 times faster than previous-generation RA3 instances, at a 30% lower price per vCPU. The instances include a custom-built vectorized data lake query engine, enabling unified SQL analytics across diverse data formats like Apache Iceberg and Parquet. Customers can resize existing RG or RA3 clusters to these new sizes using Elastic or Classic Resize, or upgrade RA3 clusters via Snapshot & Restore, with availability on patch version P202 and later.
