Amazon SES adds bot event detection to open and click notifications
Amazon SES now includes an `isBotEvent` field in open and click event notifications, differentiating between automated and human-initiated interactions. - →Understand engagement drivers with bot event data
- →Automatic availability and no extra configuration needed
Features (1) ›
- Identify automated open and click events
Amazon SES event notifications for Open and Click events now include an `isBotEvent` field. This field indicates whether the event was likely triggered by an automated system or a human recipient.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Understand engagement drivers with bot event data
The new `isBotEvent` field, with values 'Likely' or 'Unlikely', helps customers differentiate engagement from automated systems versus human recipients. This provides a clearer signal for analyzing email campaign performance.
Notes (1) ›
- Automatic availability and no extra configuration needed
This feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon SES is offered. Customers already publishing Open or Click events to an event destination will automatically see the `isBotEvent` field without any additional configuration steps.
