Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB adds backup and restore

Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now supports on-demand and scheduled backups, allowing users to restore data to new or existing resources. This feature enhances data protection strategies by offering granular control over backup frequency, retention, and restore operations. It is available for both InfluxDB 2 and 3 engines across all AWS Regions where the service is offered. Customers can manage these operations via the AWS Console, CLI, or API.

    Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB now allows users to trigger one-time, on-demand backups, schedule automated recurring backups, and restore data to new or existing resources. This provides enhanced control over data protection strategies for both InfluxDB 2 and 3 engines.

  • Flexible backup scheduling and retention options

    Users can define up to four automated backup configurations per resource with schedules including hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or custom intervals, each with its own retention period. Initial backups are full, while subsequent ones are incremental.

    This new capability is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB is supported and can be managed through the AWS Management Console, AWS CLI, and the Timestream for InfluxDB API.
