AWS Backup adds logically air-gapped vault support to 6 more regions
AWS Backup logically air-gapped vaults are now available in six additional AWS Regions, including Asia Pacific (Taipei) and Mexico (Central). This expansion allows more users to store immutable, isolated backups with enhanced security features like default locking and encryption. The feature is accessible through the AWS Backup console, CLI, or SDKs, and is now supported by a wider geographic footprint.

AWS Backup's logically air-gapped vaults are now available in six additional regions: Asia Pacific (Taipei), Asia Pacific (Malaysia), Asia Pacific (New Zealand), Asia Pacific (Thailand), Mexico (Central), and Canada West (Calgary). These vaults provide immutable, isolated backups that are locked by default and encrypted.

- Enhanced features for logically air-gapped vaults
Users can now back up directly to logically air-gapped vaults, copy backups across accounts and Regions, and share vaults for recovery using AWS Resource Access Manager (RAM). Vault access can be safeguarded during account compromise with Multi-party approval.
