AWS Continuum integrates AI code security into developer workflows
AWS announced new integrations for AWS Continuum for code vulnerabilities, bringing AI-powered security checks into developer workflows. These integrations with Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Kiro aim to help developers discover, prioritize, validate, and remediate code vulnerabilities at machine speed. The enhancements address the growing complexity of AI model findings and the need for automated, context-aware security assessments directly within coding environments. AWS Continuum for code vulnerabilities is currently in preview, with integrations for coding assistants planned for release soon.

- AWS Continuum enhances code security with AI model integrations
AWS is integrating its Continuum for code vulnerabilities product with AI coding assistants like Anthropic Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and Kiro. This aims to embed security checks directly into developer workflows, enabling automated discovery, prioritization, validation, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
- Addressing AI-driven security complexity
The increasing sophistication of AI models generates more security findings, creating complexity for security teams. Continuum acts as an orchestration layer, selecting the most effective models for each security task and integrating them into a unified workflow to manage this challenge.
- Contextualized security validation and remediation
Continuum prioritizes vulnerabilities based on customer-specific AWS environments, including configurations and IAM policies, and validates them in a sandbox. This contextual intelligence is then returned to the coding assistant, streamlining the traditional multi-step process of scanning, triaging, and fixing vulnerabilities.
- Two modes for vulnerability management
Users can leverage AWS Continuum for code vulnerabilities to manage existing codebases or use the integrated plugins within Codex, Claude Code, or Kiro for security-validated suggestions during greenfield development.
- Preview availability and future plans
AWS Continuum for code vulnerabilities is available in preview, with sign-up required for access. Integrations into Claude Code, Codex, and Kiro coding environments are planned for release soon.
