AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (DRS) now offers faster recovery for AWS-based workloads by skipping unnecessary preparation steps for Amazon EC2 instances. This enhancement can reduce recovery times by up to 65% for Windows and 40% for Linux, allowing applications to come back online more quickly during disaster events. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where DRS is offered, at no additional cost. All existing DRS functionality, including automated networking, driver, and licensing application, remains the same.
