AWS HealthOmics Adds IAM Session Policies for Dynamic Run Permissions
AWS HealthOmics now supports IAM session policies, enabling users to dynamically restrict permissions for individual bioinformatics runs without provisioning multiple IAM roles. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for multi-tenant applications and for granting temporary, scoped access to sensitive resources like Amazon S3 buckets. The inline session policies define the maximum permissions for a run, intersecting with existing identity-based policies, and are available in all AWS HealthOmics regions. Healthcare and life sciences customers can leverage this to improve security and streamline access management.
