AWS HealthOmics adds task-level timeout for WDL workflows
AWS HealthOmics now allows setting task-level timeouts for WDL workflows, enabling better cost control and automated error recovery. This feature is particularly beneficial for healthcare and life sciences customers, allowing them to prevent runaway tasks and manage resource consumption. The omicsTimeout runtime attribute can be specified with standard time units and is available in all supported AWS HealthOmics regions.

AWS HealthOmics now supports task-level timeouts for WDL workflows, allowing users to set maximum execution durations for individual tasks using the omicsTimeout runtime attribute. This feature helps control costs by stopping tasks that exceed their defined time bounds and automates error recovery.

The task-level timeout feature for WDL workflows is now available in all supported AWS HealthOmics regions, including US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London), Israel (Tel Aviv), and Asia Pacific (Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo).
