AWS Lambda MicroVMs Expands Availability to Five New Regions

aiawsgaengineeraws-lambda
feature

AWS Lambda MicroVMs is now available in five additional AWS Regions, including Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney) and Europe (Frankfurt, Stockholm), increasing its total reach to ten regions. This expansion allows developers to run secure, stateful, and responsive code closer to end-users, improving latency and meeting data residency requirements. It provides VM-level isolation, near-instant launch, and state preservation for applications such as AI coding assistants, interactive development environments, and vulnerability scanners. Developers can manage MicroVMs via the AWS Lambda console, CloudFormation, CDK, or the Agent Toolkit, supporting protocols like HTTP/2, gRPC, and WebSockets.
