AWS Launches Simplified Signup and Building Experience
AWS introduces a new simplified getting started experience for builders, especially those working with AI, to reduce initial configuration friction. It allows sign-up with existing identity providers like Google and GitHub, often without a credit card, and provides $100 in free credits for new accounts. The experience organizes work into projects with sensible defaults, streamlines team collaboration without requiring IAM knowledge, and offers spend limits to manage costs. This new approach is gradually rolling out to new customers, with the option to activate advanced AWS features later without migration.

- Simplified Getting Started for New AWS Builders
AWS is rolling out a redesigned onboarding experience that streamlines account creation and initial setup. New users can sign up using existing identities like Google or GitHub, often without a credit card, and receive $100 in free credits. The experience offers sensible defaults, organizes work into projects, simplifies inviting collaborators, and includes spend limits to control costs.
- Spend Limits and Advanced Feature Activation
Users can set monthly spend limits for each project, receiving notifications as they approach the limit, and projects are paused if the limit is reached to prevent unexpected charges. Should advanced customization or multi-region support be required, users can activate full AWS features at any time without needing to migrate their existing work.

- Project-Based Organization with Streamlined Collaboration
The new experience organizes resources and settings within 'projects' and automatically applies security controls. Users can invite collaborators with just an email address, eliminating the need for manual IAM configuration. Coding agents and console workflows also automatically configure permissions between supported services, further simplifying environment setup.
