AWS Outposts Adds Self-Service Lifecycle Management
AWS Outposts now offers self-service lifecycle management for configuration, ordering, and decommissioning directly through the AWS Management Console, CLI, and API. This change empowers customers to manage their Outposts lifecycle independently, reducing reliance on AWS teams for these operations. The new capabilities include a real-time quoting tool and guided workflows for renewals and decommissioning, available in all commercial AWS Regions supporting Outposts.

- Self-service lifecycle management for AWS Outposts
AWS Outposts now supports self-service capabilities for configuration, quoting, ordering, subscription management, renewal, and decommissioning via the AWS Management Console, CLI, and API. This reduces the need for customer reliance on AWS teams for managing the Outposts lifecycle.
- Real-time configuration and quoting tool
A new tool provides real-time cost estimates based on payment options and term lengths, while also identifying account and regional constraints prior to order submission. Quotes are generated quickly and can be converted to orders directly within the console.
- Programmatic subscription and billing visibility
Subscription details, including term dates and billing information, are now accessible through the AWS Management Console and programmatically. This eliminates the need to contact AWS support for contract-related information.
- Self-service renewal and decommissioning workflows
Customers can now renew their Outposts terms or initiate decommissioning through guided, self-service workflows. These workflows include assistance with resource cleanup for decommissioning.
