AWS Tools for PowerShell V4 Reaches End-of-Support
AWS Tools for PowerShell V4 has officially reached its end-of-support date as of June 1, 2026, having entered maintenance mode in March 2026. This means there will be no further updates, including security fixes or support for new AWS services and features. Customers are strongly encouraged to migrate to V5, which offers performance enhancements, bug fixes, and ongoing support for AWS services, with a migration guide available to assist.

Version 4 of the AWS Tools for PowerShell has reached end-of-support as of June 1, 2026, meaning no further updates, including security fixes or new service support, will be provided.
- Implications of using V4 post-end-of-support
Existing scripts will continue to function, but V4 will not receive new cmdlets for services or features, nor security or bug fixes. Any discovered vulnerabilities will only be addressed in V5.
