AWS Transfer Family web apps support federated IAM Identity Center permissions
AWS Transfer Family web apps now support federated permissions with IAM Identity Center across multiple AWS Regions. This change reduces latency and improves reliability by allowing web apps to be created in Regions where IAM Identity Center configurations have been replicated, eliminating the need to reconfigure user credentials. Administrators can manage permissions using existing identities, and users can sign in with their current credentials. The feature is available now.

Features (1) ›
- Federated permissions for Transfer Family web apps with IAM Identity Center
AWS Transfer Family web apps now support federated permissions via IAM Identity Center across multiple AWS Regions. Previously, web apps were restricted to the Region of the IAM Identity Center instance, but this update allows replication of identity configurations to other Regions. This enables the creation of Transfer Family web apps in these new Regions, reducing user latency and improving reliability.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Streamlined user credential management and permission control
IAM Identity Center automatically replicates workforce identities to new Regions, eliminating the need for administrators to reconfigure user credentials. This allows for fine-grained permission management using existing IAM Identity Center workforce identities, and users can sign in immediately with their existing credentials.
Notes (1) ›
- Guidance for implementation and regional availability
Users can consult the Transfer Family User Guide for getting started and the IAM Identity Center User Guide for enabling multi-Region replication. Information on regional availability can be found at AWS Capabilities.
