Features (3)
  • Integrated Git Version Control in SageMaker Unified Studio

Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio now provides full Git version control directly within project tools like Query Editor, Visual ETL, Workflows, and Notebooks. This enhances the Repositories experience, replacing automatic sync with flexible, file-level tracking and bringing consistent source control across all tools, including Notebooks which previously lacked Git support.

  • Flexible File Tracking and Repository Management

Users can choose which files to track in Git by adding them to repositories on GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket, without source control being enforced at the project level. Repositories are decoupled from project creation, allowing them to be added at any point, and projects can connect to multiple repositories and branches simultaneously.

  • In-IDE Git Operations and CLI Access

Users can perform Git operations such as creating branches, pulling updates, and resolving conflicts directly within their SageMaker Unified Studio projects. Additionally, users of JupyterLab or Code Editor retain full Git CLI access via the built-in terminal.

Notes (1)
  • Availability and Opt-In for Enhanced Git Experience

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon SageMaker Unified Studio is supported, for both IAM and IAM Identity Center domains. Projects currently using the previous Git experience can opt in to the richer model by updating their project.
