  • AWS Certificate Manager Deprecates Email Validation for Public Certificates

    AWS Certificate Manager (ACM) will discontinue support for email-validated public certificates by September 30, 2027. Customers currently using email validation are required to migrate to DNS validation, or HTTP validation for Amazon CloudFront distributions, before this deadline.

    Amazon EC2 introduces a new status check feature designed to detect and respond to application-level issues on EC2 instances. This allows monitoring for problems such as an unresponsive web server, a stopped Docker daemon, or incorrect network configurations, complementing existing instance and system checks.

  • Automated IAM Role Setup with New AWS IAM Role Manager

    A new AWS IAM role manager automatically sets up the necessary IAM roles for AWS services. When configuring supported services in the console, the manager can create a default role or reuse an existing one with matching permissions, simplifying the initial setup process for identity and access management.

  • OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Defense Initiative Now Available on Amazon Bedrock

    OpenAI's Daybreak, a cyber defense initiative, is now available to eligible customers on Amazon Bedrock. Powered by GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-5.6 Cyber, Daybreak provides governed access to advanced AI capabilities for cybersecurity work, supporting defensive workflows like vulnerability discovery and incident response, as well as advanced tasks like exploit reproduction.

These additions provide specialized capabilities to address a broader range of enterprise AI challenges for AWS customers.

    AWS highlighted recent open source community events in Seoul and discussed updates to OpenSearch and Valkey. OpenSearch 3.7, released June 9, 2026, enhanced querying, alerting, and SLO tracking, and improved vector search performance. Valkey 9.1, released May 19, 2026, introduced a redesigned I/O threading model, boosting throughput and memory efficiency. Both versions are available on Amazon OpenSearch Service and Amazon ElastiCache respectively.
