Azure API Management Introduces AI Gateway Tier in Public Preview
Azure API Management has launched a dedicated AI Gateway tier, now available in public preview, optimized to manage AI workloads. This new tier enables platform teams to consistently apply security, policies, authentication, observability, and operational controls across their AI assets. It supports AI models hosted on Microsoft Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, OpenAI, and Anthropic. The service also extends consistent controls to MCP servers, offering built-in policy enforcement, OpenTelemetry-based observability, and enterprise authentication.
