feature announcement

Microsoft Azure has launched Multicloud Interconnect, simplifying dedicated private connectivity between Azure and AWS environments. This service abstracts complex networking challenges, offering high-bandwidth and predictable paths essential for mission-critical and AI-enabled workloads. Organizations can now deploy connectivity up to 100 Gbps at general availability, leveraging a standardized Open API specification for enhanced interoperability. It aims to reduce operational complexity and provide resilience for data and applications spanning cloud boundaries.

  • Simplify dedicated private connectivity between Azure and AWS
  • High-performance connectivity for AI workloads and an open future
Features (1)
  • Simplify dedicated private connectivity between Azure and AWS

Azure Multicloud Interconnect provides a simplified experience for establishing dedicated private connectivity between Azure and AWS, abstracting the underlying multicloud networking complexity. It enables high-bandwidth and predictable paths for deploying multicloud architectures for mission-critical workloads.

Notes (1)
  • High-performance connectivity for AI workloads and an open future

The interconnect is designed to support AI training and inference workloads with high-capacity private connectivity, extending to Azure Private Link for an end-to-end private path. It also advances an open multicloud future by using a standardized Open API specification, enabling broader interoperability across hyperscale cloud providers.
