Azure Sphere OS 26.09 RC1 with Major Linux Kernel Update Available for Evaluation
Azure Sphere OS version 26.09 RC1 is now available in the Retail Eval feed, featuring a major Linux kernel version update as part of the platform's long-term support and security commitment. While this release introduces no customer-facing changes, the significant underlying kernel bump necessitates extensive evaluation by customers with existing applications. This version will undergo an extended evaluation period until September 2026 before being broadly deployed to devices in the Retail feed. Users are strongly encouraged to test thoroughly and report any issues.
