Azure VPN Clients Retiring March 31, 2028
Azure will retire manually registered VPN clients for point-to-site connections using Microsoft Entra ID authentication on March 31, 2028. This change aims to enhance security by exclusively supporting Microsoft-registered VPN clients. Starting December 30, 2025, new point-to-site connections with manually registered clients will no longer be possible. Users are advised to migrate to Microsoft-registered VPN clients before the March 2028 deadline to avoid service disruption.

- Retirement of Manually Registered Azure VPN Clients
Manually registered Azure VPN clients for point-to-site connections with Microsoft Entra ID authentication will be retired on March 31, 2028. Microsoft will only support Microsoft-registered VPN clients after this date to improve security.

Beginning December 30, 2025, it will no longer be possible to create new point-to-site connections using a manually registered client.

To prevent disruptions, users are strongly recommended to migrate their manually registered Azure VPN clients to a Microsoft-registered VPN client for point-to-site connections with Microsoft Entra ID authentication before March 31, 2028.
