Regional endpoints (REP) for the Cloud SQL for SQL Server Admin API are now generally available, enabling interaction with instances via regionalized URLs. This enhancement improves data residency by keeping network traffic within the same region as the instance, reducing reliance on global frontend infrastructure and ensuring strong regional isolation. Designed to meet stringent data residency and sovereignty standards like ITAR and Assured Workloads Regions, the endpoints perform certificate management and TLS termination regionally. It primarily benefits developers and architects managing Cloud SQL for SQL Server who require strict data locality and compliance.

    Regional endpoints (REP) are now generally available ( GA ) for the Cloud SQL for SQL Server Admin API.
