CloudWatch Network Monitoring now supports TGW inter-Region peering with synthetic monitors
Amazon CloudWatch Network Monitoring now provides a network health indicator (NHI) for paths crossing AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) inter-Region peering connections, helping identify AWS network-induced performance issues. This extends the existing NHI capability, previously limited to AWS Direct Connect paths, to support peered Regions over TGW. Network operators and application developers can use this feature to reduce the time spent isolating degradation sources on these paths, with indicators published to CloudWatch for dashboards and alarms.

Amazon CloudWatch Network Monitoring now extends its network health indicator (NHI) to paths that connect through AWS Transit Gateway (TGW) inter-Region peering connections. This allows users to determine if network performance issues on such paths are caused by the AWS network, aiding in faster root cause analysis. The indicator reflects the health of the AWS network path up to the Transit Gateway peering connection.
