Cluster Toolkit v1.102.0 Enhances GKE with MTC, Flex Volumes, and HPC Capabilities

Google has released Cluster Toolkit version v1.102.0, introducing several new features and enhancements for GKE and related infrastructure. Key updates include enabling Multi-Tier Checkpointing (MTC) for GKE clusters and adding support for Flex unified volumes to NetApp Volumes modules. This release also integrates Distributed Resilient Architecture Network (DRANET) into example blueprints for A3 Ultra, A4, Cloud TPU v7x, and Cloud TPU v6e. These improvements boost GKE cluster resilience, storage flexibility, and enhance infrastructure capabilities for high-performance computing and AI workloads, while also providing finer-grained network control through disabling Private Google Access for IPv6.

This release enables Multi-Tier Checkpointing (MTC) when you create GKE clusters, and adds support for Flex unified volumes to NetApp Volumes modules. This release also updates Slurm blueprints to use OS image families, enables Distributed Resilient Architecture Network (DRANET) in example blueprints for A3 Ultra, A4, Cloud TPU v7x, and Cloud TPU v6e, and updates the Go toolchain to version 1.26.
