feature announcement

Google Cloud has released new policy intelligence capabilities for VPC Service Controls, including a Violation Analyzer and Violation Dashboard. These tools simplify policy management and troubleshooting by providing clear, actionable insights for security perimeters. Cloud infrastructure administrators and security teams can now more efficiently identify, investigate, and resolve access denials. This aims to enhance security and operational agility by reducing mean-time-to-resolution for perimeter issues.

  • Streamlined Perimeter Operations Lifecycle
Features (2)
  • VPC Service Controls Violation Analyzer

This tool streamlines investigating policy violations by directly identifying principals, target resources, and triggered rules from a troubleshooting token or denial ID. It eliminates the need for manual Cloud Logging queries, providing clear access context and actionable insights to quickly resolve issues.

  • VPC Service Controls Violation Dashboard

The new dashboard aggregates and visualizes all service perimeter violations across an entire Google Cloud organization in a single pane. It helps security teams identify trends, spot spikes in access denials, and filter violations by specific perimeters, projects, or identities for real-time monitoring.

Notes (1)
  • Streamlined Perimeter Operations Lifecycle

Together, the Violation Analyzer and Dashboard simplify the entire VPC Service Controls lifecycle, from deployment to policy refinement. They enable easier testing of new perimeters, real-time tracking of denials, efficient triaging of events, and quicker fixes for policy rules, significantly reducing mean-time-to-resolution.
