GitHub confirms Classroom deprecation and service decommissioning
GitHub provides an update confirming the deprecation and decommissioning of its Classroom service, which was effective August 28, 2026. The platform's website, APIs, and related services have now been decommissioned, completing a transition initially announced on May 26. While user accounts, repositories, and organizations remain unaffected, specific GitHub Classroom data, such as assignment names and LTI integrated rosters, will be permanently deleted.
