GitHub Copilot will deprecate Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash models on July 31st, 2026, across all its experiences. Users are advised to update workflows to the suggested alternatives, Gemini 3.1 Pro and Gemini 3.5 Flash, respectively. Administrators must enable these new models in Copilot settings before the deprecation date.

Copilot Enterprise administrators need to enable access to the suggested alternative models through their model policies in Copilot settings. Verifying availability involves checking individual Copilot settings and confirming policy enablement for the specific model.

Once the older models have been deprecated, no specific action is required to remove them. GitHub Enterprise customers with questions are encouraged to contact their account manager.
