    Effective July 31, 2026, GitHub Copilot is deprecating the Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash models across all its experiences. This change requires users to update their workflows and integrations to use alternative, supported models.

  • Suggested alternative models and admin actions

    Gemini 2.5 Pro is replaced by Gemini 3.1 Pro (Preview), and Gemini 3 Flash by Gemini 3.6 Flash. Copilot Enterprise administrators must enable these new models through their model policies in Copilot settings to make them available in Copilot Chat and on github.com.
