Features (3)
  • Agentic Browser Tools Now Generally Available

Agentic browser tools are now enabled by default, allowing agents to navigate pages, inspect content, capture screenshots, and validate web apps directly within VS Code. This feature builds upon previous preview releases.

  • Remote Workspace Browsing in Public Preview

When using the integrated browser in a remote workspace, HTTP(S) web traffic can now be proxied through the remote connection. This feature is currently in public preview.

  • Marketplace Model Provider Discovery from VS Code

Model provider discovery is now integrated directly into VS Code through the Language Models editor, making it easier to find and install model provider extensions from the Marketplace. Users can also customize context size and reasoning effort from a unified picker.

Enhancements (3)
  • Improved Integrated Browser Experience

The integrated browser in VS Code has been enhanced with favorites, history, and web search capabilities. It also includes new permissions for camera and location, and allows adding screenshots or area screenshots to chat for providing web page context to agents.

  • Enhanced Parallel Session and Chat Management

The Agents window now supports running sessions side-by-side, using multiple chats within a single session for focused workstreams, and organizing agent sessions through grouping or drag-and-drop rearrangement.

  • Clearer Cost Visibility and Tracking

Users can now see the total cost of a session, track additional Copilot usage via the GitHub Copilot status dashboard, and inspect credit usage for individual subagent sections when work is delegated.
