GitHub Copilot now allows enterprises to set a preferred default AI model for new conversations via managed settings. This capability enables organizations to align Copilot's model choice with specific team workflows and needs. Generally available for Copilot Business and Enterprise users, these settings apply across the Copilot app, CLI, and Visual Studio Code.

- Enterprise-managed default AI model for GitHub Copilot
Administrators can now configure a preferred GitHub Copilot model as the default for new conversations across their enterprise. This setting can also be customized per team, enabling specific default models to be assigned based on team membership and workflow requirements.
