Managed Apache Spark Clusters Default to Flex VMs for Unspecified Machine Types

datagcpgaengineer
announcement

Managed Service for Apache Spark clusters will now default to a Flex VM configuration for nodes where a machine type is not explicitly specified. This update applies to clusters created using image version 3.0 or later of the Managed Service for Apache Spark. The change standardizes the default behavior for users who provision clusters without defining specific machine types for all nodes.

Notes (1)
  • Managed Service for Apache Spark

Starting with Managed Service for Apache Spark image version 3.0 , clusters that are created without a specified machine type for a node are created with a Flex VM configuration for the node.
