patch announcement

Google Cloud has begun rolling out a new release for its Managed Service for Apache Airflow (Cloud Composer) on August 10, 2026. This update enhances web server stability in Gen 3 environments by aligning worker calculations with recent Airflow versions and introduces new Airflow build images for both Gen 3 and Gen 2. Key changes include the blocking of the `[api]rbac_bindings` configuration option for specific Airflow versions. As the release is in progress, some regions may not yet have access to all the updated features and builds.

Enhancements (4)
  • Managed Service for Apache Airflow

(Managed Airflow Gen 3) Adjusted the formula used to calculate the number of Airflow web server workers based on allocated CPU and memory resources. This update aligns with resource consumption changes in recent Airflow versions, improving web server stability.

  • Managed Service for Apache Airflow

New Airflow builds are available in Managed Airflow (Gen 3): composer-3-airflow-3.2.2-build.2 composer-3-airflow-3.1.8-build.4 composer-3-airflow-2.11.1-build.15 (default) composer-3-airflow-2.10.5-build.48

  • Managed Service for Apache Airflow
