Managed Service for Apache Spark Adds New Subminor Cluster Images
gcpengineergcp-dataprocgcp-compute-engine
patch
Google Cloud has released new subminor cluster image versions for its Managed Service for Apache Spark, formerly Dataproc on Compute Engine. These updates introduce changes to Conda channel configurations, impacting how packages can be installed during cluster initialization. Users creating new clusters with these versions must specify the exact subminor image version and manually configure Conda channels if needed, with a mandatory transition away from preconfigured Conda channels by August 25, 2026, requiring existing clusters to be replaced.
