Google Cloud has issued a clarification for its Model Armor feature, specifically for the Melbourne and Seoul regions as part of the August 5, 2026 release note. In `australia-southeast2` and `asia-northeast3`, only the Sensitive Data Protection filter is supported when data residency is enforced. To enable other Model Armor capabilities in these regions, users must disable data residency enforcement within the template. This impacts architects and engineers deploying Model Armor in these specific geographical locations who need to balance feature usage with data residency requirements.
