Resource Manager adds semantic tags in preview
Google Cloud Resource Manager is now offering semantic tags in preview, leveraging OpenTelemetry conventions for standardized metadata. These tags automatically replicate environment and criticality attributes from App Hub services onto underlying resources. This feature allows for more consistent resource organization and is available through the Semantic Catalog in the Google Cloud console.

Preview : Semantic tags are available in Preview . Semantic tags provide standardized key-value metadata backed by OpenTelemetry (OTel) conventions. Tags automatically replicates Environment and Criticality attributes set on App Hub services and workloads as read-only system semantic tags ( google:AppHub/environment and google:AppHub/criticality ) on underlying direct resources. You can also view available semantics and their OTel mappings in the Semantic Catalog in the Google Cloud console. For more information, see Tags overview and Create and manage tags .
