Route 53 Global Resolver allows DNS view sharing across AWS accounts
Amazon Route 53 Global Resolver now supports sharing DNS views between AWS accounts using AWS Resource Access Manager. This allows consumer accounts to associate their Route 53 private hosted zones with a shared DNS view for centralized resolution without transferring ownership. Features (1) ›
- Enable DNS view sharing for Route 53 Global Resolver across AWS accounts
Amazon Route 53 Global Resolver now supports sharing DNS views with other AWS accounts via AWS Resource Access Manager. This allows consumer accounts to associate their private hosted zones with a shared DNS view, making records resolvable through the owner's global resolver without transferring ownership.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Granular access control for shared DNS views
Access to shared DNS views can be controlled using predefined AWS RAM managed permissions (default association-only, lifecycle management, or full access) or custom permissions for specific actions. Private hosted zone associations created by the consumer remain in their account but are visible and manageable by the owner.
Notes (1) ›
- DNS view sharing is available at no additional cost
This capability is available at no additional cost in all AWS Regions where Route 53 Global Resolver is supported.
