Unity Catalog Secrets Default for Compliance Workspaces by Late 2026
Databricks will enable Unity Catalog secrets by default for workspaces with the compliance security profile. This change is scheduled for late September 2026. It allows users to store, govern, and access secrets as securable objects, leveraging Unity Catalog's three-level namespace and privilege system. This provides consistent access controls and auditing capabilities across secrets and other data assets.

- Secrets in Unity Catalog Default for Compliance-Enabled Workspaces
Starting in late September 2026, secrets in Unity Catalog will be available by default for workspaces with an enabled compliance security profile. This enables storing, governing, and accessing secrets as securable objects, leveraging the three-level namespace and Unity Catalog privileges for consistent access controls and auditing.
