Amazon API Gateway now supports 1 MB execution logs with configurable delivery destinations
Amazon API Gateway has enhanced its REST API execution logging capabilities, now supporting log events up to 1 MB and offering configurable delivery destinations. Previously, logs were truncated at 1 KB and sent to a single API Gateway-managed CloudWatch Logs group. Users can now route these larger logs to their own Amazon CloudWatch Logs log groups, Amazon S3 buckets, or Amazon Data Firehose streams, including multiple destinations simultaneously. This improvement significantly boosts visibility into request and response data, enabling better debugging, cost-efficient long-term storage, and real-time alerting. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where API Gateway REST APIs are offered, including AWS GovCloud (US) Regions.
