AWS Storage Gateway adds FIPS-compliant private connectivity for S3 File Gateway
AWS Storage Gateway's Amazon S3 File Gateway now supports FIPS 140-3 validated endpoints over AWS PrivateLink, allowing FIPS-compliant traffic to remain on the private AWS network. This enhancement simplifies the use of Storage Gateway for regulated workloads by enabling secure, private end-to-end file transfers. To utilize this feature, customers must run gateway software version 2.1.10 or later and configure FIPS interface endpoints. The capability is available in eight AWS regions, including US East, US West, Canada, and AWS GovCloud regions.
