Features (1) ›
- Intelligent tiering for CloudWatch Logs storage
CloudWatch Logs now supports intelligent tiering, automatically classifying log data into Standard, Infrequent Access, and Archive Instant Access tiers based on access patterns. This allows for cost-effective long-term storage without operational overhead and maintains a consistent query experience.
Enhancements (2) ›
- Automated data reclassification and promotion
Data not accessed for 30 days is automatically moved to Infrequent Access, and data not accessed for 90 days moves to Archive Instant Access. Accessed older data is promoted back to the Standard tier for 30 days.
- Unified log visibility and reduced MTTR
Consolidating all logs in CloudWatch provides full visibility in a single tool, eliminating the need for multiple storage solutions and reducing Mean Time to Resolution by enabling analysis and alerting on all logs.
Notes (1) ›
- Availability and enablement details
Intelligent tiering is available in all AWS commercial regions except Middle East (Bahrain) and UAE. It can be enabled at the account level via the AWS Management Console, SDKs, or CLI.
