Amazon EC2 AMIs Now Support Specifying Compatible Instance Types

Amazon EC2 now allows AMI owners to define specific instance types that are compatible or incompatible with their AMIs, blocking launches on non-permitted types. This new capability helps reduce the risk of failed instance launches caused by incompatible AMI-instance pairings. The feature is available in all AWS Regions at no additional cost, and existing workflows remain unchanged until owners explicitly apply restrictions.
