Amazon Linux 2027 Enters Public Preview for Cloud-Native Workloads
AWS has launched the public preview of Amazon Linux 2027 (AL2027), its next-generation operating system optimized for cloud-native workloads on AWS. Building on AL2023, it targets web applications, databases, containerized microservices, and AI/ML workloads requiring a secure, stable, and AWS-native OS. Key features include kernel 7.1+, default SELinux enforcing mode, AWS-LC for cryptographic performance, and accelerator driver support for AI/ML. The preview allows customers to validate applications and provide feedback, with AMIs available across commercial AWS Regions for x86-64 and ARM, and container images on Amazon ECR Public Gallery.
