Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) for PostgreSQL has added support for the latest minor versions, including 18.6, 17.11, 16.15, 15.19, and 14.24. These updates incorporate bug fixes, performance improvements, and address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) identified by the PostgreSQL community. Users are encouraged to upgrade their databases during scheduled maintenance windows, with options like automatic minor version upgrades. For scaled operations, AWS Organizations Upgrade Rollout Policy and Amazon RDS Blue/Green deployments can facilitate phased upgrades with minimal downtime.
