AWS Backup Increases Amazon S3 Bucket Protection Limit
AWS Backup has increased its support for Amazon S3 buckets, now allowing backup and restore of more than 1,000 buckets per account, aligning with the account's S3 bucket quota. This enhancement removes the previous limit of 1,000 buckets, enabling protection for all general purpose S3 buckets. Users with existing backup plans and default AWS Backup managed policies require no configuration changes. The updated capability is available across all AWS commercial and GovCloud (US) Regions.
