AWS Builder ID enhances security with recovery options and multi-factor authentication

AWS Builder ID now offers new self-service options for profile protection and recovery, including the ability to add a recovery email and regain access if locked out. Users can also register multi-factor authentication (MFA) devices for all sign-in methods, including third-party logins from Google or Apple. These enhancements provide stronger account protection and reduce the need to contact AWS Support for account access issues. Developers and other users of AWS applications benefiting from Builder ID are affected.

    AWS Builder ID now allows users to add a recovery email for self-service access restoration and register multi-factor authentication (MFA) devices for all sign-in methods. These features apply to both direct email/password logins and third-party logins like Google or Apple. Users can also switch their sign-in method to an email and password permanently if a third-party account is lost.
