AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) has launched the new account access manager feature to streamline the assignment of IAM roles to workforce users. This capability allows administrators to directly assign IAM roles within their AWS accounts to users and groups managed by AWS IAM Identity Center. It provides the benefits of IAM Identity Center's single federation point and user awareness, combined with the granular control of IAM roles, addressing previous access management complexities. The feature is available at no additional cost in all AWS Commercial Regions and can be managed via the AWS IAM console, SDK, and CloudFormation/CDK.
