Features (1) ›
- One-click setup prompt for coding agents in Lambda console
The AWS Lambda console now provides a one-click setup prompt for coding agents, automatically configuring them with AWS Serverless skills and the Serverless Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. This simplifies the setup process for developers, embedding serverless best practices and eliminating manual configuration steps.
Enhancements (1) ›
- Integration with Agent Toolkit for AWS and specialized Lambda skills
The setup prompt installs AWS Serverless skills from Agent Toolkit for AWS, along with three specialized Lambda skills: MicroVM, Managed Instances, and durable functions. It also configures the Serverless MCP server, ensuring agents are equipped for robust serverless development.
Notes (2) ›
- Guided authentication and broad agent compatibility
The feature includes guidance for developers without local AWS authentication configured, directing them to the signing-in-to-aws skill. It also references a setup guide with installation commands for various popular coding agents like Claude Code, Kiro, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Devin Desktop, and OpenCode.
- Availability across AWS Regions
This new capability is available in all commercial AWS Regions except Middle East (Bahrain) and Middle East (UAE), as well as in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions where Lambda is supported.
